Federal Cup ATT Tennis Championships 2016 \u2013 Asian Tennis Tour (ATT)<\/p>\n

Islamabad 24th<\/sup>\u00a0October 2016:<\/p>\n

The formal opening ceremony of 1st<\/sup>\u00a0Askari Bank Federal Cup Asian Tennis Tour Men\u2019s Professional Tennis Championships was held today at S. Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad. Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF along with Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, Senior Vice President Asian Tennis Federation formally opened the prestigious Asian Ranking event with a serve and introduction with the participants. Mr. Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, President Islamabad Tennis Association, Mr. Khawar Hyat Senior Vice President PTF, Muhammad Khalid Rehmani, Secretary PTF, Mr. Arif Qureshi, Referee were also present.<\/p>\n

While talking to the participants Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan congratulated them because their names will go in the tennis history of Pakistan being the participants of 1st<\/sup>\u00a0ever ATT in the country. He added that three more US $5000\/- prize money events will be held during the next two months of the calendar year.<\/p>\n

The first two championships including Syed Tajammul Abbas Memorial are being organized by Islamabad Tennis Association and Sponsored by Askari Bank.<\/p>\n

The Federal Cup & Syed Tajammul Abbas Memorial Tennis Championships which were being held in country for the several decades have been upgraded to Asian level tournaments by the Islamabad Tennis Association. Senator S.Dilawar Abbas Sr. Vice President of Asian Tennis Federation has very actively persuaded ATF for giving these four events to Pakistan Tennis Federation. He told that press the earlier these Asian Tennis Tour have already been played in India, Thailand, Philippines and Iran in the last 6 months.<\/p>\n

Country\u2019s top players Aqeel Khan, Muhammad Abid, Heera Ashiq and Shahzad Khan were having easy sailing to the quarterfinals stage, while Faizan Khurram, Aman Atiq, Ahmed Ch., and Mudassir Murtaza also moved to the quarterfinal stage.<\/p>\n

Aqeel Khan beat Sahibzada Muhammad Ali 6-1,6-0; Heera Ashiq beat Malik Abdul Rehman 6-2,6-4; Faizan Khurram beat Hamza Bin Asif 6-0,6-0; Shahzad Khan beat Arham Atiq 6-0,6-0; Aman Atiq Khan beat Abdaal Haider 7-5,6-1; Ahmed Ch. Beat Muzammil Murtaza 6-2,3-6,6-4; Muhammad Abid beat Haris Irfan ul Haq 6-1,6-0 and Mudasir Murtaza beat Muhammad Usman Ejaz 4-6,6-2,6-3<\/p>\n
