The qualifying Rounds of Men s singles Asian Tennis Tour event will commence tomorrow as Ahmed Chohdri and Aman Atiq are given wild Cards for main draw, and Kashanul Haq and Jibranul haq in Qualifying Draw,
Sara Mansoor brushed aside Hania Naveed of Karachi in straight sets where as Sara Mahboob eliminated Mahnoor Suhail in straight sets in the first Round of Ladies Singles event of Serena Hotels Asian tennis Tour being played at S. Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex.

Islamabad 25th October 2016: Aqeel Khan and Ahmed Choudhary will vie for the top honor of 1st ATT Federal Cup Tennis Championships at S.Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad.
In the first session Aqeel Khan beat Heera Ashiq without any resistance at a score of 6-0 6-1. In the second quarter final Shahzad Khan eliminated Faizan Khurram at score of 6-2 6-1 in the third quarter final Ahmed Choudhary struggle hard to win his match against Aman Attique in a thrilling three set match at score of 6-1 4-6 6-4. In the last quarter final Muhammad Mushtaq faced tough resistance from Mudassar and he beat him in another good match of the day in three set at score 7-6(3), 2-6 6-3.
In the evening session Aqeel Khan beat Shahzad Khan in the first semi final in straight set 6-2 6-3 whereas Ahmed Choudhary upcoming player from Islamabad won his match against Muhammad Mushtaq of Lahore at a score of 6-4 6-2. He will face Aqeel Khan in the final tomorrow at 2:30 PM.
The sing-in for the qualifying draw of Syed Tajammual Abbas Memorial ATT will close tomorrow at 7:00 PM all the participant players are advised to sign personally with the Referee from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Federal Cup ATT Tennis Championships 2016 – Asian Tennis Tour (ATT)
Islamabad 24th October 2016:
The formal opening ceremony of 1st Askari Bank Federal Cup Asian Tennis Tour Men’s Professional Tennis Championships was held today at S. Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad. Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF along with Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, Senior Vice President Asian Tennis Federation formally opened the prestigious Asian Ranking event with a serve and introduction with the participants. Mr. Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, President Islamabad Tennis Association, Mr. Khawar Hyat Senior Vice President PTF, Muhammad Khalid Rehmani, Secretary PTF, Mr. Arif Qureshi, Referee were also present.
While talking to the participants Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan congratulated them because their names will go in the tennis history of Pakistan being the participants of 1st ever ATT in the country. He added that three more US $5000/- prize money events will be held during the next two months of the calendar year.
The first two championships including Syed Tajammul Abbas Memorial are being organized by Islamabad Tennis Association and Sponsored by Askari Bank.
The Federal Cup & Syed Tajammul Abbas Memorial Tennis Championships which were being held in country for the several decades have been upgraded to Asian level tournaments by the Islamabad Tennis Association. Senator S.Dilawar Abbas Sr. Vice President of Asian Tennis Federation has very actively persuaded ATF for giving these four events to Pakistan Tennis Federation. He told that press the earlier these Asian Tennis Tour have already been played in India, Thailand, Philippines and Iran in the last 6 months.
Country’s top players Aqeel Khan, Muhammad Abid, Heera Ashiq and Shahzad Khan were having easy sailing to the quarterfinals stage, while Faizan Khurram, Aman Atiq, Ahmed Ch., and Mudassir Murtaza also moved to the quarterfinal stage.

Federal Cup ATT Tennis Championships 2016 – Asian Tennis Tour (ATT)
Islamabad 23rd October 2016: The qualifying draw of 1st Asian Tennis Tour – Federal Cup ATT Tennis Championships played at S.Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad. A total number of 12 players are accepted after the sing-in deadline in the qualifying draw. Faizan Khurram, Aman Attique Khan, Muhammad Usman Ejaz, Hamza Bin Asif qualified for the Main Draw of Men’s Singles after winning the final round of qualifying matches.
Mr. Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, President of Islamabad Tennis Association has the honor to start 1st two ATT tours; Federal Cup ATT Tennis Championships and Syed Tajammul Abbas Memorial ATT Tennis Championships from 23-26 October and 26-30 October respectively. He said though it is a disappointing for us that no international players participation from overseas due to the recent conflict of Indo-PAK LOC. It is an excellent opportunity for Pakistani players to gain valuable ATF Ranking points and improve their Asian Ranking for other international tournaments. It is hearting to know that more than 44 players from Pakistan got Asian Players Identification (APIN) from Asian Tennis Federation.
Muzammil Murtaza, Muhammad Ali Shahibzada, Haris Irafan –ul-Haq, Abdal Haider, Aqeel Khan, Shahzad Khan, Mudassar Murtaza, Ahmed Choudhary, Malik Abdul Rehman and Arham Khan are directly accepted into Main Draw according to the Asian Tennis Federation office. Islamabad Tennis Association awarded two wild cards namely Muhammad Abid Mushtaq and Heera Ashiq in the Main Draw.
Upcoming Aman Attique junior players from Rawalpindi made the major upset when he eliminated top ranked national player Usman Rafique in a well contested two set match in the 1st qualifying round match and then easily eliminated Ahmed Murad without any resistance and qualified for the Main Draw. Aman Attique was in fine touch as he performed excellent game in the previous week in a grade-1 Tournament and won the National Junior title at 6-0 6-0 at POF Wah. Faizan Khurram also struggle hard to won his encounter against Talah Bin Asif in another good match of the day at 6-3 7-5 and qualified for the main draw by winning second match against Ali Imtiaz. Moosa Choudhary won his match against Hassan Qureshi of Lahore and Zaid Mujahid won his match against Adnan Rasheed in straight set 6-2 6-2.
The top sixteen players of the 1st ATT – Pakistan (M1) will be seen in action tomorrow at 10:00 AM
The opening ceremony of the main draw will start tomorrow (Monday) at 10:30 AM at S.Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad. Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, Senior Vice President and Board Member Asian Tennis Federation will grace the occasion as Chief Guest.

Council Meeting of PTF
The Annual Council Meeting of Pakistan Tennis Federation was held today at S. Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad, Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President of the PTF, chaired the meeting. Syed Dilawar Abbas, Patron PTF, Mr. Iftikhar Rashid, Sr. Executive Vice President, other members of the Management Committee and Representatives of PTF affiliated units attended the meeting.
The House was informed that PTF President and S. Dilawar Abbas, Patron PTF, who is also Sr. Vice President of Asian Tennis Federation, would attend the Annual General Meeting of ATF in Delhi next month.
The PTF, and all affiliated units presented their annual activity reports and forthcoming events’ calendar, for the remaining three months of 2016. Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan announced to that a Best Performance Trophy would be awarded, annually, to the Federating Unit showing best performance during the year in terms of tennis events and development activities, at an annual Function organised for this. It was also conveyed to the house that Pakistan will hold four Asian Tennis Tour men’s professional Tournaments this year, two by Islamabad Tennis Association and two by PTF. Each leg will have Five Thousand US Dollars as prize money as per ATF policies.
The President informed the house that PTF were working hard to raise funds to develop the infrastructure at the S. D. Abbas PTF Complex, both, in the form of new additions, such as a Swimming pool, a state of the art Gymnasium, as well as to renovate and upgrade the existing courts and other facilities. With the changes, the Complex would attract a much greater number of members. It was expected that the finances would be arranged soon
The recent visit of Mr. Suresh Menon , ITF’s Development Officer for Asia, and his recommendations were discussed at length in the meeting, It was decided that one regional Coordinator in Sindh and one at Lahore shall be appointed to further enhance Junior Tennis Initiative in the country.
Secretary PTF, Muhammad Khalid Rehmani, informed the house that PTF has already initiated coach’s education program in the country and conducted PTF Pre-ITF Level One Coaching Course at Karachi and Lahore earlier this year. 63 coaches from all parts of the country took part and 24 passed the exam and earned National Green Badge Coach status. He also informed the House that PTF plans to conduct a national Yellow Badge Umpiring course in October in Islamabad, to groom young umpires for higher ITF Level One & White Badge courses. The payment structure for qualified Umpires & Referees shall also be improved so that new talent may arise and we have a pool of qualified Umpires in the country.
Regarding Davis Cup, as Pakistan will play against Iran in the first week of February, it was unanimously decided to conduct trials to select the team for this tie.
