Pakistan Tennis Federation is pleased to inform that Col. Asif Zaman [R], DG-PSB visited PTF Complex Islamabad, to witness some of the matches and also as Chief Guest to distribute prizes amongst the winners and runners up of the 1st PTF Development Series Junior National Ranking Tennis tournament-2021.

The DG also interacted with the players and their parents and appreciated their participation and interest in these events.

He went around the PTF Complex premises and was highly impressed with the state-of-the-art courts and general up-gradation of the PTF Complex.

He also endorsed his remarks in the visitors’ book and appreciated and lauded the efforts of the PTF management for their excellent achievements for promotion of tennis in Pakistan.

He assured all possible support and assistance to PTF for fulfilment of their objectives and vision.

The DG especially mentioned the passion, efforts and achievements of Mr Salim Saifullah Khan President-PTF, who will be long remembered not only for promotion of tennis, development of infrastructure but also for bringing international tennis back to Pakistan after a lapse of twelve years through his personal efforts and interaction with ITF senior leadership.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation is pleased to inform that the PTF President ITF World J5 Junior Tennis Championships 2021 week 1 concluded at the PTF Complex, Islamabad today on 06th February 2021 by adhering to strict COVID-19 SOPs.
Players from Pakistan, Austria, Afghanistan, Iran, Belgium, France, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, India, Ukraine, Germany, and USA participated in ITF Juniors J5 Week I tournament at PTF Complex.
In the final day of week I tournament, Mr Iftikhar Shallwani, Additional Secretary Ministry of Interior and SVP Pakistan Tennis Federation was the Chief Guest and Mr Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF was the Guest of Honor on the occasion of the last match of the event, which was the exciting Boys Singles final.
In the first match of the day, Mariia Masiianskaia (RUS) bt Iman Khan (GBR) 6-3,6-1. Although Iman fought hard, Mariia proved too strong and consistent for her.
In the Boys Singles final, Birtan Duran (TUR) bt Sam Kydd Baumgartner (SUI) 7-5,6-4 in a very high-quality match. In the first set, Sam built a 5-3 lead but Birtan fought back to win the set 7-5. In the second set, a see-saw battle ensued before Birtan clinched the set and the match 6-4.

Boy’s Singles Final:
Birtan Duran (TUR) bt Sam Kydd Baumgartner (SUI): 7-5, 6-4
Girl’s Singles Final:

1st ever CBI Coaching Course in Pakistan

1st ever CBI Coaching Course in Pakistan

The Pakistan Tennis Federation is delighted to announce the conclusion of the 1st ever CBI Coaching Course in Pakistan, held at the PTF Complex, Islamabad.

 

The Course follows the recognition of our Coaches Education programme at the Bronze level, last month.  Congratulating the conducting team loader, Asim Shafik, a certified ITF Level 3 Coach, and National Development Director of the PTF, and his Assistants, Sara Mansoor and Nauman-ul-Haq, both ITF Level 2 Coaches, the President – PTF; Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, said: “It’s a proud moment for all of us at the PTF, and the entire tennis fraternity of Pakistan, to have a achieved another important, major milestone in the history of our tennis. Earlier, candidates it had to spend large amounts of funds anf go overseas to seek this level of certificat.  Equally impressive is that your team successfully organised the Course within days of having achieved Bronze recognition. I am certain that, with blessings of Almighty Allah, the successful candidates will not only be able to provide professional coaching to players at the CBI level across Pakistan, and make careers for themselves with a globally recognised certification, the children around the country will also benefit greatly, thus aiding better, more competitive groups being added to the nation’s talent nursery.  I wish all the best to those who will soon be receiving their certificates.”

 

Highlights of the Course are:

  • The 10 days long CBI (Coaching Beginner & Intermediate) Players Course (formerly known as ITF Level1), was held in Pakistan after the ITF recognized the PTF Coaches Education Program at Bronze, in December 2020.
  • A total of 18 candidates participated in the course, from all over Pakistan.
  • Candidates comprised players, coaches, and parents of young players.
  • All participants had to do 16 online pre-requisite courses, as per ITF requirements, to ensure minimum entry standards, in addition to a host of On-Court practicals, and a written exam at the end. 
  • Participants of this course were taught the latest concepts in coaching and developing beginner and intermediate level children; this included tactics, techniques, physical conditioning and psychological development.
  • Participants also learned the basics about coaching special ability players; wheelchair, hearing, and vision impaired.
  • This course will directly affect participation across Pakistan, as retention numbers in players increase if they are coached appropriately according to their age and skill level (this has been proved true by data we have in our records. 
  • This course also gives an opportunity to identify future Play Tennis tutors; Play tennis is the foundation level in the PTF Coaches Education Program (CBI being the next one). 
  • The 2 Coaching Advanced Players (formerly known as Level 2) certified trainee Tutors who assisted in this course, will now qualify as Assistant Tutors for the next CBI, as per the PTF Tutor pathway, and, subsequently, add to the numbers in the existing tutors pool.
  • Overall, this course allows candidates to enhance individual coaching abilities, as well as to give players in their respective regions better and more appropriate coaching opportunities; this will result in a general uplift in the standard of tennis, nationwide.

6th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Tournament-2020

The Pakistan Tennis Federation is pleased to inform that the 6th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Tournament-2020 concluded at the PTF Complex, Islamabad on 27th December, 2020 under strict COVID-19 SOPs.

Mr. Ayman Ismael, CFO Eighteen was the Guest of Honor. Mr. Anwar Saifullah Khan graced the occasion as Chief Guest to witness the finals and distributed prizes among the winners.

Mr. Anwar Saifullah Khan appreciated the role of sponsors in the promotion of tennis in collaboration with PTF. He also appreciated the tournament organizers for conducting such an excellent event. He praised the role of media for promotion of sports in Pakistan and especially game of tennis.

In the Men’s singles Final, Muzammil Murtaza upset top-seed Aqeel Khan in a very close and exciting 3-set match 7-6(5),3-6,6-4.

In the Women’s singles Final, Sarah Mahboob Khan defeated Ushna Suhail in a well-fought 3-set match 7-6(3),5-7,6-4.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is pleased to announce that 5th SSB Wheel Chair Tennis Coaching Camp and Tournament were successfully held at Union Club, Karachi on 06th December, 2020 under the supervision of Mr. Khalid Rehmani, Special VP PTF for Wheel Chair Tennis.
Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF appreciated the efforts of Mr. Khalid Rehmani and his team for promoting Wheel Chair Tennis and holding activities for special persons. The PTF President said that such activities will not only motivate special persons to participate in sports events but also advance the PTF vision for the promotion of this discipline of Tennis as envisaged by the PTF Management.
